Great
Tips for A Successful Safari....
A safari is counted as successful only by the great figures of animals that
you come to gaze along your way. Here we are not talking about spotting a
zebra or various antelopes but the big 5. Something that makes you feel as
if you have witnessed something truly special. Mentioning here are some of
the tips that will help you maximize your wildlife viewing successes.
Pick The Right season
Before planning any wildlife trip keep into consideration the season you
would be visiting. Try fixing your tour according to the season best suited
for a particular wildlife park, where you can get to see optimum animals of
your choice. The dry season is however said to be the best or the optimal
season to see animals.
Pick The Right Time of the day
The best time to spot game is at dawn and dusk. At midday the sun is hot
and most animals prefer to siesta under the shade of a tree, usually from
the roads you are driving on. At this time you get a golden opportunity to
see animals in their most casual postures....
Go with a guide
Guides will often be in radio contact with each other, so if one spots a
great lion kill they can let your party know so you get to see it too. A
guide is also useful in identifying species. Even if you carry a nice guide
book, it can be difficult sometimes. They also turn to be useful in reaching
out to the desired destinations of resting animals.
Know where to look
If you want to spot a leopard, then look up in the trees , look in the
rivers if you want to see crocodiles especially in patches of reeds and
watch out for steaming dung heaps to give you a good indication how close
you might be to an elephant. Take a wildlife distribution map with you so
you know what you are looking for at various points in the park.
