Tadoba is a pure tiger country, but its riches don't end here. It is one of
the parks in the country that boasts of being the home of the Asiatic lion.
The Tadoba National Park was established in the year 1935 and was declared a
national park in 1955. The park is also known as the Jewel of Vidharba and
was brought under the fold of Project Tiger as the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger
Reserve in 1995. There is no core zone so every corner of the park is
accessible. The Reserve contains some of the best of forest tracks and
endowed with rich biodiversity. It is famous for its natural heritage.
Tadoba-andhari Tiger Reserve is the second Tiger Reserve in the State.
Flora and Fauna
The park is an infinite treasure trove of innumerable species of trees and
plants. Apart from tiger there is a good chance of seeing Asiatic lion,
chital, sambar, barking deer, bears, marsh crocodiles, gaur, nilgai, Indian
bison, leopard, panther, flying squirrel and the jackals. The park is also
endowed with the rich, dry, deciduous forests that are populated with sal,
margosa, mahua, mango and bamboo.

Accommodation
Accommodation is surprisingly plentiful and varied at this relatively
remote reserve. The MTDC Tourist Complex at Moharli Village is a great
option. There is also the Tiger Trails Jungle Lodges.
How To Roll In
Air: Nearest airport: Nagpur (142 km/3 hours).
Rail: Nearest railhead: Chandrapur (45 km/1hour).
Road: Take the Nagpur-
Hyderabad
NH7 till jamb and then SH264 to Warora and Chandrapur; you can also take the
district road from Warora to Tadoba via Shegaon and Mudholi.
