Kanha National Park is located in the Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh. The park is spread in an area of more than 940 sq km, in a horse shoe shaped valley surrounded by the spurs of the Mekal range. Kanha National Park was declared as Kanha Tiger Reserve in the year 1974 under the Project Tiger.
