Elephant Safari
The Kaziranga National Park is easily accessible and so wildlife viewing
here is a very pleasurable activity. If a tourist is willing to visit the
park on an elephant's back then he needs to leave at the early hours of
dawn. The elephants are well trained by the mahouts and they guide the
tourists through the park. Elephant Safari in fact is the most enjoyed
safari to explore the wide varieties of wildlife in Kaziranga National Park.
Elephant safari covers Baguri,
Hole Path, Mihimukh, Kohora-Central Path and Arimarah. The wide area covered
by the elephant grass can be viewed very well on elephant's back. It is
usually suggested for those who travel on elephant's back to cover their
legs fully by wearing trousers to avoid abrasions from the coarse elephant
grass.
Best Season For Elephant Safari
The best time to visit the Kaziranga National Park is from mid-November to
early April. The low-lying grasslands of the park get flooded with the
waters of Brahmaputra River in the monsoons.
