Lake Palace - The luxury inside water
The beautiful Lake Palace built out of exquisite
white marble had been once the summer residence of the Royal family. This
astonishing Lake Palace surrounded by Pichola Lake is also known as Jag
Niwas and was developed by Rana Jagjit Singh II in the 17th century on a
natural foundation of 4 acers of rock. It was used as a summer resort by the
rulers and the royal durbars were held in its courtyards. The exotic and
immensely beautiful Lily pond offers a romantic mystique inside the centre
of the palace.
This living mystique is one of the most beautiful palaces in the world,
richly carved in exquisite white marble. Now, the palace has been
transformed into a magnificent hotel managed by the Taj group of Hotels
since 1971. Various apartments in the palace like: the Bada Mahal, Kush
Mahal, Sajjan Niwas, Phool Mahal and Dhola Mahal, compliment the enriching
interiors offering a romantic appeal.
Exclusive Facilities
There are 84 centrally air-conditioned rooms including 17 suites and 53
Deluxe rooms with attached bathrooms. The rooms and the suites of the hotel
are beautifully designed; each having a particular theme & decorated
with textiles and handicrafts of the region. The various rooms of the palace
include: standard rooms, lake-facing rooms, deluxe suites, historical suites
and all of them overlook either the lily pond or the terrace. They offer
