Jaipur Vacations
Jaipur, popularly known as the Pink City, was founded
in 1727 AD by one of the greatest rulers of the Kachhawaha clan, the
astronomer king Sawai Jai Singh. It is a very well planned city laid out in
a grid pattern and was designed by a young Bengali engineer and scholar by
the name "Vidyadhar Bhattacharya". It is the only city symbolizing
the nine divisions of the universe, through nine rectangular sectors.
The city is known for its marvelous architecture and intricately carved
monuments that are adequately matched by the lively spirit of culture,
festivals and its celebrations. It presents a rare combination of modernism
and historic traditions. The palaces and forts of the bygone era offer a
live testimony to the glorious architectural brilliance.
