
Kovalam is another beautiful beach on the Malabar Coastlines with
magnificent palm grooves and mouth-watering seafood. The beach is one of the
favourites among the tourists visiting Kerala, and hence it's paid a high
attention both by the tourism department and the private travel and tourism
players. The beach has all the facilities installed for water sports,
swimming and sun bathing, so that everyone can have his/ her share of
enjoyment while in the tour.
The Kovalam village is at a suitable-to-reach distance of 16 km from
Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala. The beach lies on the shores of the
Arabian Sea, amidst tranquility and beautiful palm surroundings. The beach
is clean and bright making it enjoyable for even the most pessimistic about
beaches.
Facilities :
Swimming and sunbathing are the most common activities while Kayaking,
Scuba diving, Yatching and various other sea sports also take place on the
beach. The surfboard and the freeboard lovers do have reasons to rejoice
too, as these are easily available for a minimum rent. Parasailing
enthusiasts can indulge in the activity, as there are sufficient facilities
for this activity too.

the parlours of which have been thriving due to immense popularity.
Sightseeing :
Lighthouse: This small crescent beach lies in the southern most part of the
Kovalam beach. A paradise for most sea lovers this beach sees the most
number of tourists passing most of their tour time. There is a promontory
that makes the beach more spectacular and presents a panoramic view of
Vizhinjam.
Private Beaches :
Besides the main beach Kovalam, especially Vizhinjam houses some
extraordinarily managed Private Sea beaches owned by the resort owners,
famous for the exaggeration of wealth and property. These are lavish beaches
known for their cleanliness and luxury.
